Job Description Summary
The Industrial Communications Application Engineer is responsible for delivering projects & services in our specific region for all INDC products operation and system integration. This includes following financial and operational aspects: budget, technical & contractual scopes, resources & execution planning. She/he is also responsible for safety, quality, risks & opportunities management to ensure the highest customer satisfaction & to secure projects Contribution Margin. Providing support to pre-sales team with technical insight.
This is a complete role within a dynamic and collaborative team in Bilbao and for a growing business.
Manage project & services execution (from tender to warranty end, including delivery & commissioning activities)
Be the prime customer contact for the execution of the contract/project
On-site support, field analysis and troubleshooting (Diagnostics/Configuration/Commissioning)
Training and training development/deployment on a variety of INDC products and applications.
Communicates with all areas of INDC in supporting Customers including; Sales, Technology, Product Services, Quality, Manufacturing, and any others as required, to resolve customer technical issues.
Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done
Be accountable for On Time Delivery, Sales and cash-in realization (& accurate forecasting), project Operating Working Capital, Margins improvement & Customer satisfaction
Follow project management best practices (as per Project Management Handbook and specific Product line instructions), including specific focus on transfer review, project gates reviews, project closing phase
Monthly update on actions plan progress & Sales/cash forecasts
Preparation and presentation of project reviews
Lead EHS/Safety actions and performance: be fully compliant with GE rules and processes, ensure project teams (own and subcontracted) are properly trained and holders of required qualifications when required. Lead to EHS monitoring actions, perform HSV
Follow GE compliance Policies (‘The Spirit and The Letter’) and promote open reporting
Support Commercial team at offering stage and by return of experience, optimizing project costs & deliveries
Qualifications / Requirements:
Electronics/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
Experience in telecommunication or IT sectors
Engineering and Business knowledge, with relevant experience with RF communications systems, IP networking, system-level design, and troubleshooting concepts
Experience in sales with a project management methodology
Knowledge of Electricity Transmission, Distribution & Industrial markets with financial notions
Capability to manage & motivate a project team
Autonomy & Rigor
Fully fluent in English and Spanish. Other European languages valued (French, Italian and/or Portuguese).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different departments.
Willingness to travel around 50% in the assigned region (ERCIS and Sub Saharian Africa)
