General Electric Software Engineer - Cybersecurity in Wuxi, China

Job Description Summary

Responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining cybersecurity components of embedded software applications. Responsible for software lifecycle including activities such as requirement analysis, documentation/procedures and implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

• Working closely with systems teams in requirements gathering and software design

• Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms

• Complete cybersecurity engineering and test service development/delivery with emphasis on a system engineering approach include

  • Threat modeling and risk analysis

  • Development of cybersecurity concepts and requirements

  • Cybersecurity verification planning and management

  • Cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration testing

  • Design, development and problem solving to ensure product security

Education Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related computer field with basic experience

• Experience in object-oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C+• Experience in some combination of the following:

  • Security engineering for Embedded operating systems (e.g. QNX, Linux, Android)

  • Threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, and security risk assessment

  • Wired and wireless networking technologies (e.g. Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)

  • Penetration and Fuzz testing

• Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).

• General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.

• Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.
