Job Description Summary

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Duties include (but are not limited to):• Responsible for IB/NPI programs planning, execution and delivery• Ensuring that the product design change process abides to the business Engineering Quality Procedures, Phased Review Discipline and regulatory needs of the applicable markets• Working with cross functional team to deliver the programs on time, on quality and meeting the needs of customer and fulfillment• Working with the functional engineering leadership team for the required resources, material and budget planningQuality Specific Goals:1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Change program milestones5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiativesQualifications/Requirements :1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science, or Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years experience within technical discipline or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED.2. 2 years’ experience in project leadership or driving product delivery. Experience working in cross-functional relationships, strong influential and communication skills3. Demonstrated understanding/experience with design change management projectsDesired Characteristics :1. Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)2. 2 years’ experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment.3. Demonstrated applied 6 Sigma competency4. Demonstrated experience with NPI ISO and regulatory compliance process, design history file and collaterals are in place and current5. Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues6. Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of a product/program7. Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes (EQPM, ePDM)8. Attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion
