The HW Engineering Manager position leads HW Engineering team which includes Mechanical, Electrical and Agile design engineering functions.

He / She will lead team to develop program deliverables for entire product lifecycle and meet customer requirements for product quality, cost, and timeline

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

  1. Engage in project planning, resource assignments, ensure delivery with quality, following functional processes

  2. Drive clear priorities - work with Site leaders/PMs to escalate and resolve conflicts and gaps

  3. Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product lifecycle, include both NPI and install base.

  4. Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring

  5. Create a unified, energized workforce locally, with strong global cross site collaboration

  6. Work with site leader & global functional manager on engineering functional excellence initiatives and drive functional excellence initiatives

  7. Engaged in global and local Technology ownership map strategies.

Quality Specific Goals:

  1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones

  5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements :

  1. Masters or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Automation)

  2. 5 years relevant industrial experience

  3. Proven ability to work cross-functionally

  4. Demonstrated project leadership and people management skills

  5. Demonstrated supplier and manufacturing interface skills

  6. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others

  7. Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives

  8. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes

  9. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
