You will have autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives, ensuring effective business results.

  • Building a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in alignment with the GEHC QMS and regulations related to the business’ technology and products (GxP).

  • Personal sponsorship of the business’ teams and people implementing processes and product quality improvement initiatives.

  • Creation and maintenance of a world class technical organization for the specific business technology organization. This includes the organizational design and development, budget, vision, strategy and its functional activities (recruitment, retention, talent acquisition, people and team development, coaching and mentoring, etc.)

  • The application of lean product development concepts and implementation into the technology organization (inclusive of concurrent engineering, knowledge management, and product costing principles) to increase design & development efficiency and direct proactive cost management on NPIs.

  • Budget control, resource allocation/management, the business’ technology product/process differentiation, functional excellence and teamwork.

  • Creation and maintenance of high performing team culture though collaboration with peers across all business functions (QA/RA, Supply Chain, Commercial, Service, Marketing, Sales, IT, R&D, etc.) and processes (Planning, Operations, Program/Project Management, Organizational Management, etc.).

  • Innovation and growth, as well as research and development initiatives.

  • Attending applicable technology training sessions (e.g. engineering, scientific, medical), conferences, customer visits and strategic partner/potential partner meetings.

  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering/Science within an appropriate discipline

  • 15 years progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study

  • 10 years experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment

  • Proven track record to drive global teams to deliver on business and program goals

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.... must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.

  • Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization.... able to energize and inspire.

  • Team player able to work closely with a global team and open to sharing information and best practices with the team.

Desired Characteristics :

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Science

  • Business Planning: Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the site. Demonstrated competency in providing leadership and direction in regards to cross-functional aspects of R&D/technology development

  • Business’ Technology MGPD: Excellent multi-generational planning and rationalization experience with an excellent understanding of the business’ product knowledge, systems, platforms, processes (e.g. diagnostic workflows, Study Management) and core functional technologies (e.g. imaging modalities/diagnostic imaging hardware and processes, Radiopharmaceuticals).

  • Functional Experience: Excellent program management, organizational design, execution planning and control competency

  • Product, Clinical, Technology & Scientific Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of patient/customer and segment related clinical applications and workflow as well as scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions within a functional domain

  • Product Life Cycle: Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle, managing Field Maintenance Instructions (FMIs) and Installed Base releases

  • Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills

  • Demonstrated GE leadership values

  • Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry

Previous experience in regulated medical device company
