Job Description Summary
Quality Team Leader responsible for product quality review associated with the manufacturing process, improvement programs, internal auditing and manufacturing quality documentation. The person on this position will lead a group of individual contributors dedicated to quality assurance, quality control and measurements.
Specific daily duties for this position include overseeing employee performance and inspecting products to ensure conformity throughout the production process.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
Devise and review specifications for products or processes
Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
Approve the right products or reject defectives
Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives
Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures Required Qualifications
Proven experience on quality leader position
Internal auditor skills confirmed with certificate
Knowledge of problem solving methods (e.g. PSR, 8D, SixSigma or similar)
Proficient in MS Office
In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
Good math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
