Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Responsible for processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material productivity savings. You will work within a manufacturing environment to evaluate and identify areas for improvement and implement these improvements. Assignment categories in GE Steam Power include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service Intern (Windsor, CT):

  • Manage reports: status open opportunities less than $25K

  • Invoice dispute follow up

  • Tracking & Order status

  • Quote & Sales order processing

  • General support to CSR team

Pricing/ Analytics Intern (Windsor, CT) :

  • Update & Maintenance of Standard Sell Prices

  • Work with Pricing team to review boiler parts standard pricing against market pricing based on win-loss & order history.

  • Flag parts for cost out / resourcing that are underperforming margin due to current cost

  • Evaluate and mitigate cost impacts from de-centralizing buy from key suppliers

Rotating Parts fulfillment Intern (Atlanta, GA):

  • Support Americas region customer quote and order requests

  • Coordinate support with engineering and sourcing to support needs as required

  • Run reporting and analytics to help manage backlog

Parts E-Business Development Intern (Atlanta, GA/Windsor, CT) :

Mission: Develop an E-business implementation plan and social media marketing/ branding for Steam Americas Parts

  • Have a workout with Customers, Sales, and CSRs to get a VOC on GE’s website and marketing materials for Parts and Services.

  • Evaluate competitors’ websites and marketing strategies and compare/contrast them to GE’s.

  • Work with different product teams to develop or update Product Information Brochures

  • Develop campaign strategy for online presences (LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Work with GE Digital or CoreTech to update our website to include features and information based on market research and VOC

  • Size and scope the project to complete it within the internship time frame and to do a turnover (KT with documentation) to the Parts Managers and Sales Managers so they understand how to keep the website and marketing materials up to date in a sustainable fashion using only the currently available tools in GE.

  • Have a workout with Customers, Sales, and CSRs to get the VOC for if and how they would use an e-business solution to order parts.

  • Have a workout with Steam Digital, Kevin Hulse, Finance, and Sourcing to capture past and current methods e-business in GE

  • Develop requirements and a multi-generational plan for a e-business solution based on outcomes of workouts

  • Present findings and implementation plan to Steam Americas Parts stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.

  • Following majors accepted: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Coatings Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Welding Engineering, Other Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

  • Must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com/campus interview to be considered

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
