Job Description Summary
The Plant Integration Technical leader will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, development and resource management of a technical team of engineers supporting GEH Nuclear. In addition, you will manage complex issues within the functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall engineering strategy.
Job Description
As the Technical Leader - Integrated Plant Design you will:
Have ownership and accountability for plant integrated systems from licensing through final design for construction up to plant turnover to the customer, requirements management, change control and engineering activities that manage the NI/TI interfaces with partners and suppliers in support of GEH Nuclear spanning the entire portfolio
Be responsible for the coordination associated New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, be responsible for oversight of the product technology decisions and be the escalation point and oversight for technical issue resolution
Work across engineering teams to assure effective interdisciplinary detailed design interfaces are established and maintained, resolve inter-disciplinary issues, plan/support independent design reviews and provide oversight of plant security issues, e.g., Safeguards Information classification, Sensitive Unclassified Nuclear Safeguards Information (SUNSI) classification and associated Cyber Security issues
Have accountability for delivering products and services on-time and on-budget
Be responsible for team resource planning and project/program assignments
Work collaboratively across the engineering matrix and with business leaders in Product Development, Project Delivery, Sourcing and Quality to ensure close coordination of technical inputs/outputs, project/product requirements, workforce planning/scheduling and risk management
Have ownership to streamline, integrate and develop team technical and management processes to better support business needs across the organization through Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology
Act as a technical liaise with customers, partner organizations and suppliers as necessary and in close partnership/coordination with Product Development and Project Delivery leaders
Partner with business teams and presents product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leads across GEH
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical or similar)
Minimum 7 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated people management and motivation skills
Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline
Experience managing highly technical and diverse Engineering teams and functions
Strong Leadership skills
Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)
Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
Strong organization skills
Strong problem solving abilities
Prior experience in project delivery and working within a matrix environment
Strong customer mindset
Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
Six Sigma training is preferred
Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills
