General Electric Senior Services Product Line Leader - Refuel Floor in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Senior Product Line Leader – Refuel Floor will have full product line ownership and People Leadership responsibilities for the Services Refuel Floor team. This includes ownership of ITO to OTR responsibilities as well as oversight of the safe execution of complex projects and activities involving BWR 2-6. Product line services include Reactor Disassembly / Reassembly, Fuel Movement, In Vessel Maintenance, and Advanced Tooling.

Roles and Responsibilities

This role will report to the Outage Services Director and have responsibility for the overall growth, commercial, and performance strategy for the Refuel Floor product line. This will include staff leadership, human performance (HU), talent development, new product / market introduction, project management, and commercial execution.

As the Senior Product Line Leader – Refuel Floor, you will:

  • Lead and exemplify integrity, quality, continuous improvement, and nuclear safety culture.

  • Support the development of commercial proposals by providing project estimates on labor quantity, labor hours, tooling, and logistics.

  • Drive standard GEH (GE Hitachi) processes across projects and ensure procedural compliance.

  • Establish trusting relationships and interact effectively with senior level customer and supplier management on commercial, execution, technical, and compliance issues.

  • Provide leadership to ensure high quality deliverables are produced in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Lead a team of Full-Time GEH personnel consisting of a Staff Manager, Project Managers, Field Engineers supporting BWR Refuel Floor maintenance projects.

  • Development and Ownership of Product Line Growth with respect to customers, training, tooling, and services.

  • Responsible for leading and coaching multi-disciplined and multi-cultural teams composed of GE and contingent worker personnel, including craft labor.

  • Provide project delivery planning leadership and rigor. Transition planning, risk identification, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.

  • Represent GEH as the Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on GEH OEM equipment and Refuel Floor Tooling.

  • Represent GEH as the Original Equipment Manufacturer and Subject Matter Expert on the following BWR Nuclear Systems Including:

  • Control Rod Drive (CRD)

  • Control Rod Blade (CRB)

  • Reactor Internals (RI)

  • Local Power Range Monitor (LPRM)

  • Startup/Wide Range Neutron Monitor (SRNM / WRNM)

  • Source & Intermediate Range Monitor (SRM / IRM)

  • Rod Position Information System (RPIS)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 10+ years’ experience in the nuclear industry with roles of increasing complexity.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with Nuclear Maintenance Projects

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time to domestic and international customer sites.

  • Ability and willingness to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain and maintain unescorted access and US and International Nuclear Plant Sites.

  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas.

  • Ability and willingness to work up to 12 hours a day, 7 days per week when delivering field projects.

Desired Characteristics

  • Refuel Floor Experience (Reactor Maintenance, Fuel Movement, In Vessel Maintenance, and Tooling Development)

  • Commercial Experience / Proposal Development and Cost Estimating

  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling, maintenance, inspection and outage activities

  • Knowledge of BWR vessels and components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS) and Containment Buildings

  • Excellent computer skills, and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software as well as enterprise systems such as P6, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and Oracle ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)

  • Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships, including vendors and global teams

  • Ability to manage effectively through high stress conditions

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of outputs

  • Well organized and self-directed worker

The salary range for this position is $115-155k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
