Job Description Summary
The Senior Project Manager – BWR Owners’ Group (BWROG) is responsible for the day-to-day execution of multiple BWROG technical projects, including proposal development, budget and schedule estimation and management, meeting planning and facilitation (in-person, virtual and hybrid), and management of internal and external resources. This is a customer facing role, requiring daily interactions with BWROG utility members and travel to meetings and BWR sites to accomplish project goals. The BWR Owners’ Group is a membership organization consisting of all domestic (US) and most international operating boiling water reactors with a shared mission to maintain and improve plant safety, achieve higher plant reliability, minimize and share costs, facilitate regulatory interaction, and effectively apply limited resources for mutual resolution of issues applicable to two or more members.
The preferred work location is Wilmington, NC but remote will be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead technical teams to produce deliverables on diverse and challenging customer projects
Interact daily with customers to determine member needs and drive program growth through strategic focus on common industry issues while leveraging GE Nuclear competencies
Understand and execute principles of project budget estimation, controls, and execution, and schedule development and management
Organize and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings with stakeholders to accomplish project goals
Represent GE-Hitachi at BWROG and other industry meetings and teleconferences
Improve programmatic processes by sharing and capturing best practices while having a Lean mindset to identify continuous improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Commercial Nuclear Industry
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program/project management, or other related experience requiring use and understanding of project management principles and tools
Eligibility Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Desired Characteristics
10+ years working at an operating BWR
Extensive technical knowledge of BWR systems and equipment
Experience in nuclear industry working groups
Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers and facilitate productive meetings
Knowledge of Nuclear / GEH products, processes, customers, markets and competition
Strong leadership skills to bring multi-disciplinary teams together to solve complex customer issues
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
The salary range for this position is $109-155k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
