General Electric Senior IVV (Independent Verification Validation) Test Engineer in Wilmington, North Carolina
Job Description Summary
The Senior IVV (Independent Verification Validation) Test Engineer will provide leadership in the development of dedication specifications, testing, inspections, & documentation for electronics components & their replacement parts for nuclear power plant applications. They will interface with hardware, software, product line and commercial leaders to ensure GE platform and project specific qualification requirements are satisfied.
This position will require relocation to Wilmington, NC.
Report to the Manager of I&C Technology in Wilmington, NC and interact with other cross-discipline engineering technical leaders, engineering managers and business/project leaders
Support qualification of safety-related I&C and electrical equipment utilized in nuclear power plants
Develop, create, schedule, and perform engineered or other commercial tests of new technology solutions to meet customer, design, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present technical data to co-workers and customers.
Work closely with technicians and lead the Engineering team in resolving technical issues in support of current projects, equipment under test, or in-service platforms;
Generate operational guidance, engineering specifications, and regulatory justification
Collaborate proactively and inclusively across other engineering disciplines to support integrated plant design objectives
Collaborate effectively with experts within the team and in adjacent workgroups.
Collaborate with project management, project engineering, support functions, and others to drive project completion
Assist with hosting learning sessions and knowledge capture and transfer (KC&T) initiatives
Champion conformance with regulations and guides, standard review plans, branch technical positions, interim staff guidance, information notices and summaries, bulletins, orders, applicable nuclear guidance, and industry standards
Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering from an accredited university/college, equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required within the first year.

Knowledge of electronics design and development activities including exposure to design for manufacture & test-methodologies.
Experience in diagnostic troubleshooting of both Analog and Digital Electronics.
Understanding of nuclear industry and technology, US and international nuclear regulatory affairs, licensing, laws, rules, regulations, guidance, etc. applicable to power and test reactors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Hands on experience with measurement instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Experience writing Technical Documents.
Working knowledge of equipment EMC, seismic, and environmental qualification in NRC Regulatory Guides per IEEE, Military, and IEC Standards
The salary range for this position is $120-155k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
