Job Description Summary
The New Unit Commercial Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will create, integrate and develop customer offerings that meet business needs across the organization, collaborate with potential partners to create project delivery models and supporting agreements to meet business, partner(s) and customer needs, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes, and calculate the applicable commercial financial measures (margin; cashflow; revenue recognition; NPV; other) for senior management reviews.
As a New Unit Commercial Leader, you will:
Support the development of Proposals, Cost Estimates, Pricing Strategies, Terms and Conditions, and Customer Purchase Order reviews
Be the primary interface with the Global Sales Team on opportunities within Nuclear Fuels, Services, and New Plant Projects
Act as a key component to the cross-functional team consisting of Business Leaders, Project Managers, Product Managers, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Legal, Sourcing, and Account Managers
Present the deal structure and financial models to Business Leadership for approval
Develop review material and position papers regarding new unit opportunities for review at Power and GE Corporate level. Work with points of contact at Power and GE Corporate to finalize these documents
Participate with Nuclear Account Managers and the Commercial Director in negotiations with the customer as required
Develop customer and partner presentation material describing the financial performance of a specific project, potential funding sources and the recommended project delivery model. Present and explain these models and positions to potential customer and partners.
Along with the new unit Project Director and Product Line Director, take a lead role in customer contract negotiations
Take lead in performing initial reviews of customer term sheets, contracts and other agreements, conforming these documents to the GEH preferred commercial models prior to business and legal reviews
Provide comparisons among project terms to ensure consistency of positions and an understanding of positions accepted in the market
As directed by Busines Leadership, craft Memorandums of Understanding and teaming agreements with potential customers and project partners
Working with potential partners, develop project delivery models that would be acceptable to both the delivery team and customer
Draft consortium and other partnering agreements as required to align with applicable commercial models
Establish the proposal or contract review roadmap with a focus on delivery
Coordinate subject matter expert reviews of contract documents and financial models (inputs and results), incorporating comments
Own deadlines and drive the process to achieve these dates
Ensure compliance with the GE commercial risk process by acting as a technical and commercial Risk Manager
Partner with functional leaders (Marketing / Sales Team) to improve customer satisfaction and bring customer issues directly to the business for resolution
Maintain the GE Customer Relationship Management System (SalesForce) and Cost Estimating tools
Support achievement of Commercial Team metrics related to the "Inquiry to Order" process
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 10 years of directly related experience
Experience conforming another party’s legal documents to in-house commercial positions prior to business and legal review
Able to construct mathematical models using Excel; able to edit and revise documents using MS Word, including format revisions for productivity
Able to multi-task to support on-going mature contract negotiations, while also developing emerging opportunities
Self-sufficient and a self-starter in performing the above duties. Self-sufficiency and directly performing the work are critical to being successful in this role
United States Government Contracting experience
High energy level, broad business acumen, effective communicator at all levels (internal and external), ability to motivate a team
Strong overall business knowledge and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication / presentation skills
Ability to work in a team environment

The salary range for this position is 102,000 to 160,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
