General Electric Manufacturing Operations Financial Analyst in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Financial Analyst is a dynamic position that plays an important role in providing finance solutions including development and implementation for an integrated and complex ERP system. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining Inventory Data quality, maintain costing product standards to ensure proper profitability reporting by business segment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis

  • Perform the Costing Bill of Materials maintenance and updates within the year

  • Perform the Calculation of Standard Costs and Plant Overhead rates

  • Provide leadership in data consistency and maintain Item Master Data within Oracle to ensure reporting accuracy

  • Schedule and monitor systematic jobs for transaction processing

  • Provide financial visibility to the Manufacturing Operations, Quality and EHS functions

  • Review and resolve system errors generated from scheduled jobs

  • Work with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of headcount reporting

  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication

  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Enforce Controllership in accordance with General Electric (GE) and General Electric Hitachi (GEH) Nuclear Energy Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure all systems and processes adhere to GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and recommend and implement enhancements as changes warrant

  • Develop and expand job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial role

Desired Characteristics

  • 5+ years of experience including financial system, accounting, or controllership

  • Working knowledge of accounting and reporting information systems

  • Experience working with ERP financial systems such as Oracle or SAP

  • General knowledge of Costing and Standards in a manufacturing environment to ensure proper product line profitability and accuracy

  • Strong analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively across multiple functions

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-starter

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and ability to react to emerging priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written / verbal communication, and leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills – ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to influence peers and senior leadership

  • Willingness to be proactive
