General Electric Lead Financial Reporting Analyst in Wilmington, North Carolina

Role Summary:The Lead Financial Reporting Analyst is dynamic role that plays an important role in providing finance solutions, including development and implementation, for an integrated and complex ERP system. The analyst will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:As the Lead Financial Reporting Analyst will:

  • Lead key strategic initiatives for business ERP processes

  • Responsible for all projects relating to ERP system, including: accepting upgrades, adding new modules and features & corresponding testing

  • Partner with ERP team and IT Shared Services to work on outstanding system enhancement requirements including testing and training, to resolve issues, design solutions and implement processes to meet the need of overall ledger, subledger, and ERP strategy

  • Work directly with Financial Business Partners to understand their operations and be able to create efficient solutions to meet their needs by researching, analyzing and interpreting data

  • Execution of monthly and quarterly close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with GAAP

  • Schedule and monitor systematic jobs for transaction processing

  • Develop and communicate calendar for closing processes and cut offs.

  • Review and resolve system errors generated from scheduled jobs

  • Manage maintenance of payroll, freight, Vpayment, and other transactions and troubleshoot system feeds

  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication

  • Conduct and/or coordinate training for new and existing team members as needed

  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Enforce Controllership in accordance with GE and GEH Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure all systems and processes adhere to GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and recommend and implement enhancements as changes warrant

  • Advance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role

Desired Characteristics:

  • 5+ years of experience including financial system, accounting, or controllership

  • Working knowledge of accounting and reporting information systems

  • Experience working with ERP financial systems such as Oracle or SAP

  • Strong analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively across multiple functions

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-starter

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and ability to react to emerging priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written / verbal communication, and leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills – ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to influence peers and senior leadership

  • Willingness to be proactive
