Job Description Summary
The GE Hitachi (GEH) Nuclear Programs Internal Financial Auditor -Government Oversight will develop and maintain systems, rules, and processes to ensure fulfillment of internal and external requirements. This role will ensure that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze overall business process mapping for quality improvement purposes including standardization of processes, tools and performance management system
Perform written quality reviews and analysis on US government programs to business process compliance requirements
Interact with program employees to complete required tasks, including performing weekly vouchering verifications and evaluations
Analyze and review project government processes compared to actual project work performed and provide written analysis for management review
Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility
Able to communicate complex messages to others, acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing skills required to influence others on topics within field
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Minimal Travel Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college
Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance and project accounting or quality oversight
Experience in interpreting government contracts
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Experience interfacing with DOE, DCAA, or other Government agencies
Working knowledge of MS Office skills and intermediate MS Excel skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to manage time and work activities
Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively interact with all levels of management to resolve issues that cross organizational boundaries
