General Electric Lead Production Supervision Specialist in West Jefferson, North Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Lead Production Supervision Specialist will support the daily operations of the plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. This position involves a broad understanding of manufacturing concepts, methods and procedures and a strong foundation of working with hourly employee populations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support all front-line manufacturing employees across first shift

  • Be responsible for safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics for assigned teams

  • Resolve problems through consistent application of policies and procedures; expected to utilize acquired expertise guided by precedent to address issues

  • Conduct and execute on manpower planning and training in order to develop adequate skills within the teams to meet customer requirements

  • Mentor upper levels on teams in the ability to problem solve and coach peers to reinforce teaming culture

  • Work together with Program Leaders and other Coaches and cross functional support team

  • Communicate across all levels and functions of the West Jefferson facility, including direct reports, peers, senior leadership, as well as Maintenance, Quality, EHS, HR, ENG and Finance

  • Present to internal teams on metrics and project status

  • This position requires flexibility to work across different shifts for training/support as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
