Job Description Summary

As a GE Additive Technical Sales Lead Engineer, you will apply GE Additive’s most advanced additive technology solutions to our customers’ most challenging manufacturing problems. With the Sales team you will support technical inquiries, develop account strategies, and create cohesive solution offerings from machine, powder, print services, software, and consulting products. You will utilize the full GE Additive ecosystem to develop a cohesive customer solution.

Interfacing with customers to understand their technical needs and identify GE Additive solutions.
Partnering with the sales team to cultivate customers and develop business relationships that result in sales and create long term value for the customer and GE Additive.
Creating strong working relationships & influence across the sales, product management, engineering, and services teams to deepen GE Additive’s customer relationships
Developing and maintaining deep technical domain knowledge that includes, application development, materials, powder handling, machine function, and implementing additive manufacturing on an industrial scale
Additional responsibilities include:
Support the regional sales teams with technical questions remotely and at onsite customer meetings
Support sales account strategies by translating customer technical needs into solutions and scopes
Share your domain expertise of all GE Additive products (Machines, Powders, Consulting, Print Services, Software) and how our products and systems are best utilized by our customers
Conduct technical assessments of additive manufacturing feasibility for customer parts and systems
Own technical project scoping for assigned proposals, cost analysis, and quoting efforts by working across a highly matrixed organization
Have accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives including improving quality of our proposals and accelerating sales pipeline
Maintain strong awareness of the additive market, our competitors, and the value our GE Additive ecosystem solutions provide for our global customers
Consult with product management, marketing, and Customer Service Engineering on industry trends, customer needs, wins/losses, and product gaps to ensure product roadmaps reflect the technical needs of our customers
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science or other related technical field from an accredited university or college.
5 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Material Science, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of additive manufacturing industry experience
Demonstrated strong and effective interpersonal skills with external customers
Flexibility to frequently travel to customer sites. Travel expectations up to 50%
Deep technical knowledge of additive manufacturing and how to apply additive manufacturing to a variety of applications.
Ability to understand & negotiate customer requirements and scope customer engagements that overlap with our product portfolio
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and team building skills; proven ability to work well in a matrix environment
Experience with designing for additive manufacturing, reading engineering drawings and manipulating 3D CAD files.
Knowledge of powdered metals and material properties of titanium, aluminum, nickel alloys and steel.
Business development experience of additive manufacturing technology products.
Strong financial and business acumen
Executive level presentation and customer interaction skills
Established project management skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with an ability to focus on the “critical few”
Technical knowledge on the additive design process and/or additive manufacturing experience
