General Electric Staff Engineer – Repair Engineering in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

This is a Staff Repair Engineering role supporting commercial aviation. This position has the opportunity to be remote. This position leads the development of repair and inspection technologies. Leads cross functional teams including design, materials, and PSE (Product Support Engineering) to develop repair procedures.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in repair discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in repair.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of Aviation repair processes and technical substantiation.

  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations for repair. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of the repair team to arrive at decisions.

  • Mentors colleagues with less experience.

  • Leads repair projects with substantial business impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, repair, or an applicable discipline

  • Travel up to 5% within the US or globally

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment).

Desired Characteristics

  • Good understanding of Aviation repair manuals

  • Understanding FAA regulations and how it pertains to repair

  • Prior Aviation Experience
