General Electric Principal Technical Program Manager in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

As part of Commercial Engines & Services team in Aviation Digital Technology, the Principal Technical Program Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial fleet and asset data strategy and program management of driving the business to a unified asset source of 1Fleet.

In this role, you will partner with the business and our technical software

and data engineering teams to define key use cases of how to consume and publish fleet asset data. You will build and execute on a program plan to migrate fleet and asset data consumers and publishers to 1Fleet as a data source to simplify the fleet asset data landscape and drive connectivity across GE Aviation.

Additionally, you will partner with Digital Technology and business stakeholders across all divisions to drive the enterprise data management strategy for fleet and asset data.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical teams to build strategy of how to expose and consume fleet and asset data centrally for GE Aviation

  • Build inventory to identify consumers and publishers of fleet and asset data and identify common use case patterns

  • Possess data technical skillset (DBA, ETL, API, etc.) to be able to analyze data consumption/publish use cases and recommend best go-forward

  • Develop program plan to migrate internal GE Aviation systems and processes to common fleet and asset data source, 1Fleet

  • Partner with joint venture partner, Safran, to develop strategy and plan for sharing CFM fleet and asset data

  • Develop data dictionary for fleet and asset data

  • Operationally, work with development team to track inbound and outbound data quality across the fleet and asset data ecosystem

  • In this role, the candidate will interact with the CEO Product Management organization to help define 1Fleet product strategy

  • Engage frequently with the software development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, contribute to design activities and decisions

  • May engage customers at executive/technical levels to present strategy/roadmap/feature overview, collect requirements, create/refine strategy and formulate roadmap

  • This role reports to a Sr Director Technical Product Management and is responsible to create strong working relationship & influence across various organizations within CEO, Sales, Services, Engineering and DT

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in IT

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Software development or Product Management

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
