Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the Binder Jet Machine manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations design/planning/execution around manufacturing program deliverables. Functions with autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Interfaces with design engineering to resolve issues around safety, quality, cost and through-put. Helps to establish should cost estimates for outside manufacturing actives to help in transition from low rate production to full rate production.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define and control production process including tooling, facility, hardware and equipment.
Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Will lead projects associated with the manufacturing and set up of Binder Jet subsystems and machines. Explains information; developing skills to grow team members.
Identifies and resolves manufacturability issues and drives projects to reduce cost.
- Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
