Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Utilize a broad experience base to plan and execute process development efforts within defined technical requirements, costs, and schedules
Interface with a multidisciplinary team to define technical approach and required resources to assure program requirements and overall objectives are met
Responsible for identification and execution of activities to maintain and improve lab safety and efficiency (Lean)
Apply specialized knowledge/skills to prepare and implement project plans in support of lab safety, maintenance or improvements in conjunction with the appropriate internal and external support organizations
Communicate status and problems to project team and leaders
Develop in-depth knowledge in the technical disciplines around ceramics and casting process technology
Complete documentation according to process development needs.
Quarterly travel to local (Dayton, Cincinnati metro) GE sites to coordinate with internal customers and testing
Employ proven interpersonal skills to provide informal guidance to new team members
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited university or college OR an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited university OR college with a minimum 4 years of manufacturing or relevant shop experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 6 years of manufacturing or relevant shop experience
US Citizen or permanent resident able to handle items deemed license required for export by the US export regulations
Desired Characteristics
Three years prior experience in a process development environment with handling of chemicals/powders, furnaces, mixers and other equipment and materials common in an advanced materials processing environment
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
