General Electric Lead Process Engineer - Metrology/PolyWorks in West Chester, Ohio
Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the manufacturing process of additively printed hardware. Focusing on new product industrialization and introduction. Responsible for additive metrology programming and production execution in addition to metrology development for complex additive hardware and implementation of new processes and equipment. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Must be trainable and willing to learn new technologies and inspection software.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline (metrology, and inspection software such as PolyWorks, PCDIMS) . Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
Familiarity with CAD software such as UG NX or Solidworks.
Strong knowledge and background in GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings.

Working knowledge of PolyWorks software for metrology inspections.
Familiarity with coordinate measurement systems/non-touch scanning.
Background in quality control or processes and/or inspection technology processes and development.
Understanding of additive technology. In particular, a working knowledge of additively printed designs.
Experience working on new product introductions or product industrialization.
Experience authoring or advising on engineering and manufacturing process work instructions and standard operating practices.
