General Electric Design Engineer - GE90 Fan Composites in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

This role is for a Legacy Program Life Cycle Engineer to provide outstanding continued support for the GE90 product. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components by executing standard operational/technical tasks or instructions and work routines. The role will support PMC Composite parts by partnering with Supply Chain, Sourcing and other Engineering functions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

  • Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule & budget constraints.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Composite PCM discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Mathematics, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an engineering role

  • Any relevant design, analysis, or test experience with mechanical hardware design and development such as rotating parts, structural frames, and airfoil design

  • Proven facilitation and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams

  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams both locally and around the globe

  • Highly motivated self-starter focused on solving technical problems and driving solutions

  • Ability to create and execute program plans, as well as communicate status, challenges, and recovery plans effectively

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
