Job Description Summary
The CDx (Customer Digital Experience) User Experience team creates user-informed interfaces for the GE Healthcare pre-purchase, purchase, and post-purchase experience. In this role, you will design digital products that prioritize user needs and leveraging usability principles. You will frame, scope, and lead multiple small to medium user experience projects in a cross-functional environment. Additionally, you will work horizontally with the UX team to define and describe the existing CDx user experience through journey maps and storyboards.
In this role, you will:
Partner with DT, Functional Leaders and Users to design products that create business value for customers and GE, while meeting user needs.
Lead and contribute to user-informed design via clickable prototypes, annotated wireframes, and process maps.
Lead low-fidelity prototyping sessions (e.g. white boarding, paper prototyping) to experiment with multiple potential approaches to a problem.
Leverage research methods such as contextual inquiry, heuristic evaluation, and card sorting to learn about users, stakeholders, and existing systems.
Facilitate, contribute as a designer or recommend specific design thinking activities such as design sprints to define problems and iterate possible solutions.
Bachelor’s Degree in HCI, Computer Science or Industrial Design preferred or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
A minimum of 2+ years but typically 5+ years of professional experience in product or service design.
GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Highly proficient in standard design, wireframing, or prototyping tools (e.g. Sketch, Axure, Figma, Adobe XD).
Highly proficient at generative techniques (e.g. sketching, brainstorming) to establish a variety of possible design decisions and decision scenarios.
Knows how to create and leverage design patterns and when to consciously deviate from them to produce usable designs and inform new design systems.
Expert in specific areas of UX, with a continued desire to go both deeper and broader.
Builds consensus by articulating and providing rationale for the user point of view in broader context will all collaborators including leadership on cross-functional teams.
Asks questions to translate an abstract problem into a roadmap for identifying solutions.
Applies and advocates for principles of design thinking.
Mastery of Agile / Lean UX methodologies and provides insight to leadership.
Leads design team and cross-functional team discussions relative to user experience projects
Provides leadership, design guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.
Leads and participates in constructive design critiques / validation sessions.
Researches, shares, and evaluates emerging design, technology, industry, regulatory and market trends to the team or community.
