Job Description Summary

The Sr. Global Marketing Director leads, coordinates and manages execution of marketing plans, identifies and executes opportunities for growth and share gain, and contributes to the development of a product/portfolio strategy including product positioning, globally. Optimizes commercial execution though development of marketing and launch plans and aligning market insights with technology trends. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Gold Standard marketing practices to develop global marketing plans to grow orders and share – portfolio management, marketing strategy, customer segmentation and targeting, positioning and value proposition development, message and market assets development.

  • Performing clinical and industry trend analysis, market share and competitive analysis, and win/loss tracking to identify product and commercial strategies for growth. Owning market research and coordination with external vendors.

  • Quantifying and prioritizing market opportunity. Orchestrating research to assess market and customer environments and discover unmet needs, buying cycles and personas.

  • Collecting and prioritizing product introduction and improvement recommendations and analyze competitive landscape. Identifying budget requirements to insure proper execution.

  • Developing outcome-based claims for clinical/economic value selling and embed project plans with budget early in PRD process. Ensure that regional marketing plans are aligned with the global marketing plan and collaborate with regional marketing on selecting appropriate marketing mix.

  • Building a global market requirements document that prioritizes customer segments and business opportunities.

  • Identifying and assessing market and distribution risks and developing a plan to mitigate those risks.

  • Working with Region Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Global Design to provide input to the product development roadmap and to develop, test and prototype new product ideas.

  • Working with Region Product Marketing to perform installed base analysis in order to define programs needed to improve customer loyalty, share of wallet and retention. Collaborating with Product Management to include these programs on product roadmaps.

  • Developing a plan and budget for evidence generation to support selected NPI’s and installed base products.

  • Defining brand (naming & trademarks), value proposition(s), and competitive positioning claims roadmap for new and existing products.

  • Building and executing global product launch plan, including value proposition, segmentation positioning, target pricing, awareness & advocacy strategies, channel strategy and sale enablement (in coordination with Regional Product Marketing).

  • Coordinating development of marketing assets and product training materials (in cooperation with Marketing Services).

  • Collaborating with Advertising & Promotion and Communications to develop a communications plan in support of the marketing objective.

  • Developing and managing budget needed to execute marketing plan and ensure timely implementation of programs in marketing plan.

  • Work closely with regions, Segment leaders and RPM, to develop channel strategy and mitigate distribution risk. Set global pricing targets and work with regions to develop strategy.

  • Drive commercial excellence in partnership with Region Commercial Leaders to enable strong solutions to operational aspects of the business, like pricing, product launches, customer connections, sales force effectiveness and other related areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in global strategic marketing or related fields

  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, experience in executive level presentations

  • Strong analytical and process skills

  • Demonstrable project management skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment

  • Willingness to travel 10-30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

  • 10+ years’ experience in product management, marketing, commercial marketing or related field

  • Demonstrated experience in bringing devices to market with successful product launches

  • Deep Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management.

  • Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work globally
