Job Overview:

The GHEC Ultrasound business consists of ultrasound consoles, handheld ultrasound devices, and ultrasound IT solutions across 6 different market segments. As customers’ needs for more and consistent digital solutions continue to grow, the market for digital ultrasound solutions advances. Our mission with Ultrasound Digital Ecosystems is to develop a seamlessly connected world of devices and software that creates additional value to end users and customers beyond devices alone. Solutions will connect clinicians, increase user confidence, improve efficiency, and provide affordable cloud solutions across customers segments and demographics. We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead our larger, more complex, digital ecosystems programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Drive program planning and multi-generational product/platform roadmap execution to deliver on expected outcomes

  • Work closely with digital ecosystem and segment product management teams to drive product direction

  • Lead cross-functional execution including (but not limited to) proof of concept projects, program execution, platform release, clinical and pilot trials, product delivery, operational improvement, and install base support projects

  • Work with the business segments, enterprise partners, and 3rd party partners to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features

  • Manage program risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the program or project

  • Collaborate with business, functional, and technology leadership in defining feature backlog and specifying requirements

  • Define execution methodologies and project management practices to be followed within the program

  • Manage day-to-day execution of single program or coordinate execution across multiple interdependent programs by working directly with global teams; drive shared approach and outcomes tracking

  • Manage budget, procurement, and onboarding process

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives

  • Track program or project outcomes through established metrics

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones

  • Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • 6+ years of technical & professional experience in software development project management, leading cross functional initiatives, and/or large global projects (OR Master’s degree with 5 years of experience)

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Wisconsin

Desired Characteristics:

Project/Program Management Expertise:

  • Proven experience using project management methodologies to drive business deliverables

  • PMP, Agile, or related Project Management certifications

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with managing programs within a Quality Management System

  • Experience with design requirements, flow-down, verification & validation, and traceability

  • Awareness of software design principals, cybersecurity principals, cloud development, mobile application development, and edge computing

  • Awareness with medical device interconnectivity technologies including application layer protocols such as DICOM, HL7 etc.

Business Acumen:

  • Expert in navigating through ambiguity and prioritizing conflicting requirements

  • Create, analyze and manage projects that provide direct business benefit; demonstrate detailed knowledge of business operations and strategic direction, including merger & acquisition opportunities;

  • Understands Medical Device Software Design Principals, requirements for meeting various country regulatory clearances, and demonstrates awareness of industry dynamics

  • Understands industry trends and competitive landscape and the implications for GEHC business; partner with business leaders to align projects with business goals and needs


  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals

  • Recommends allocation of budget to meet project or program success

  • Facilitates dialogues that leads to actionable recommendations to mitigate risks or remove “roadblocks”

  • Influences through others; uses experts or other third parties to influence; builds direct and "behind the scenes" (indirect) support for ideas

  • Experience leading and working with global teams

  • Applies knowledge to coach and mentor others
