Job Description Summary

The Software Platform Leader, Ultrasound is the team leader responsible for developing a modern software platform architecture and driving the implementation across the Ultrasound organization. This role requires strong program management experience and knowledge of modern and scalable software architectures across multiple specialized ultrasound segments. The Software Platform Leader has across organization influence to drive long-term and cohesive software platform technologies within the ultrasound segments that provide business value and competitive advantage.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead a software platform development across the ultrasound segments based on a common framework and application program interfaces that promote global development and sharing of software.

  • Define and build engineering development platform processes which enhance engineering consistency and efficiency of engineering development practices.

  • Define principles that guide platform decisions and build upon industry and market trends.

  • Responsible for the development of software and delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.

  • Lead the definition of the common software platform as well as the program execution.

  • Work closely with Chiefs, Principals, and Architects as well as Digital and Service Technology leadership to align the common software platform with GE Healthcare-wide architecture, design, and digital initiatives.

  • Leads the development of modern software development tools and techniques and open source environment.

  • Partners with GE Healthcare internal and external stakeholders/resources to ensure Cyber Security readiness.

  • Leads the business-wide technical and business discussions relative to future software directions, aligning strategy with business goals.

  • Proactively identifies reuse goals, opportunities and related explorations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • A minimum of 15 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product lines.

  • Eligibility Requirements

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in leading large and complex software transformation initiatives.

  • Experience in the development and deployment of modern software architectures that support Digital, AI, and applications based on machine learning.

  • Deep understanding of embedded ultrasound devices and their unique requirements for on-device processing.

  • Hands-on experience as well as clear understanding of new age technologies like software architectures, software platforms, APIs, micro services, digital, machine and deep learning tools and techniques.
