Job Description Summary
The Software Engineering Director in the Ultrasound General Imaging (GI) Segment leads a team of software professionals to execute to business priorities and deliver products that delight customers. The successful candidate will be a people leader first while understanding the business and product strategy and working collaboratively with the global GI R&D management team and peers across the global GE Ultrasound organization.

Leverage deep skills for people management in order to deliver team outcomes to business priorities.
People leadership of the GI software team at Research Park, including employee development, recruitment, team/talent/skillset development, and mentoring
Member of collaborative management team to set the strategy and direction of the global GI R&D team and deliver to business priorities
Driving continuous improvement of software systems, products, and processes through Lean/Agile with a focus on product quality
Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget
Ensuring software team compliance to Quality System and Quality Priorities
Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and business problems
Working with global peers and partners to improve GI and Ultrasound efficiency on development of global platforms
Optimizing team’s performance in all phases of product development
Supporting forward production and installed base of GI products
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Medical Physics
10 years relevant software work experience
5 years demonstrated experience in team leadership, project management and/or people leadership
Experience in software product lifecycle development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Master’s Degree in an engineering or science field such as Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Medical Physics
10 years of relevant experience ultrasound or medical device product development
Experience with IEC 62304 and FDA or other regulatory submissions
Ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
Strong collaboration skills and desire to contribute to a common purpose
Strong outlook in new technologies, digital innovations
Can-do attitude, self-drive, flexible, intellectually curious, willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges to meet business goals
