Role Summary:

The Global Inventory Manager position is responsible for leading and optimizing inventory management and process improvements across the Ultrasound Business. This includes developing a vision and implementing plans, processes, and initiatives to improve inventory management and materials utilization across Ultrasound. Recognized as a subject matter expert within their function, the incumbent will influence and communicate well with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall Inventory process owner across the Ultrasound SBU, ensuring operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.

  • Coordinate all the activities between Engineering / Sourcing / Manufacturing / Region to support on-time delivery / sales plan for all regions.

  • Ensure clear communication with region and modality on MFG fulfillment status.

  • Integrate with NPIs to drive phase-in / phase-out to ensure fulfillment and obsolescence avoidance and implement design for fulfillment model.

  • Work closely with planning and manufacturing leaders to optimize inventory in regions, driving turn improvement.

  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.

  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.

  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity to improve VS operation efficiency. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Supply Chain or related disciples and 8 years’ supply chain experience, OR High School Diploma/GED and 15 years’ experience with proven leadership in manufacturing/service role

  • Demonstrated leadership in energizing global teams and global project management

  • Ability to successfully motivate, empower and inspire teams; drive employee involvement, safety and teamwork while driving results and positive change

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment

  • Strong analytical expertise and proven expertise in a statistically based process and problem solving methodology and rigor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Boundaryless thinker with proven influencing and change management skills

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • OMLP Graduate

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience

  • Green Belt Certified with demonstrated process analytic and process improvement skills leveraging Six Sigma tools and methods

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt

  • APICS Certification
