General Electric USCAN Logistics Director in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Role Summary:

The USCAN Logistics Director is responsible for leading and executing all logistics aspects for a $3B+ P&L with a $100M spend. The responsibilities include the scope of imports, exports, storage and distribution of finished goods to customers, while facilitating transportation between affiliates.

Essential Responsibilities:

This also includes meeting the delivery and quality requirements of our internal / external customers, while driving optimal cost for transportation, warehousing and packaging / materials. Driving a strategy for a world class logistics operation will be key. It is also critical to assess, build and develop an outstanding logistics organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading team responsible for On Time Delivery for distribution

  • Overcome road blocks to ensure delivery is made in line with internal and external customers requirements, ensure quality and timeliness

  • Drive logistics productivity projects, deliver cost out

  • Develop, coach, and lead organization, setting measurable goals and objectives to evaluate success

  • Drive standardization of transportation processes across GE Healthcare.

  • Responsible for quality & ITC compliance of goods distributed in the network

  • Responsible for a $100M operating plan, while meeting quarterly financial targets

  • Manage the Relationship / Operations of 3rd Party Warehouses

  • Ensure KPI’s are met by carriers and warehouse providers

  • Partner with internal customers on ways to improve delivery to the external customer while driving productivity

  • Physical Inventory / Support Inventory Optimization

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 years of operations management experience or HS diploma and 12 years operations management experience

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience and proven ability to lead and inspire a team, maintain high morale, employee involvement & teamwork

  • Exceptional communication (verbal, written) & collaboration skills with proven ability to drive and manage change initiatives in a matrixed environment

  • Capability to understand and analyze complex situations utilizing data analysis and systems thinking

  • Demonstration of rigor and strong execution in an operational environment

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during peak periods

  • Strong Computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Legally authorized to work in the US without restriction

  • Willingness to work out of an office located in the greater Milwaukee area

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Materials, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management

  • MBA or Masters degree

  • Experience in large scale operational process improvement

  • 2 years commercial operations experience with demonstrated expertise in commercial contracting and/or relevant operational processes

  • Change Orientation: Demonstrated ability to develop and lead sustainable process changes, and adapt to business and functional changes

  • Operations Management Leadership Program or other leadership program

  • Lean Expert, Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or PMP certification

  • APICS Certification
