Job Description Summary


The System Engineering Technician performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC CT product development.

Assignments may include, but are not limited to: set up and running of engineering tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting and maintaining engineering target systems and simulators , support of trade shows, performing various quality and regulatory activities such equipment calibration and EHS checklists

Job Description


  • Anticipate troubleshooting needs and perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.

  • Repair, maintain, build, and upgrade engineering development target systems to ensure update in support of NPI programs

  • Work with the management team to lead and deploy training plans as needed.

  • Provide technical assistance by phone or in person to customer, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed.

  • Travel to customer sites to assist or lead system level installations, problem resolution, and diagnostics as required.

  • Little or no direction is given in execution of job related activities.

  • Partner with Marketing in identifying, preparing, transportation, and onsite support of equipment at Trade Shows.

  • Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality

  • Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Design Controls Procedures in order to ensure that specified design requirements are met Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records


  • Associates degree, or a High School diploma and 5 to 7 years technical experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a complex engineering environment

  • Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot up to system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques and previous experience

  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and coordinate implementation of corrections to the existing design or process

  • High proficiency to interpret and explain complex technical information.

  • Demonstrated proficiency to utilize and modify computerized work systems

  • Demonstrate an ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology

Desired Characteristics :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related field

  • Prior CT system experience In manufacturing, service, or related area.

  • Working knowledge of Linux
