Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Responsible for programming a component, feature and or feature set. Work independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Contribute to design discussions. Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts. Take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members. Analyze impact of technology choices. Drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team. Demonstrate awareness or product positioning and key differentiators. Serve as expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project. Explore alternate technology and approaches to solve problems. Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implement them using appropriate chosen language. Promote transparency by sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness. Demonstrate expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog. Guide and mentor team members on technical issues and best coding practices. Participate in code reviews. Debug and troubleshoot software anomalies.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and 5 years of progressively responsible post-bachelor’s degree experience in a related occupation required. The position also requires: 2 years experience using PTC ThingWorx or similar IoT platform; 5 years experience with Java and REST design and development; 5 years experience with Object Oriented Design and Development; 2 years experience with BDD (Behavior Driven Test) test automation; 2 years experience using Aha, Rally, ALM, Collaborator, Confluence tools; 4 years experience using Agile, Scrum SDLC methodologies; and 2 years continuous Integration and Deployment experience.
