Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Develop AI models to improve image processing for X-ray images, integrate them with existing algorithms or with new algorithms as needed to meet the established priorities. Develop engineering prototypes of user interfaces to demonstrate engineering and customer facing controls. Work alongside with other engineers in the Image Quality, Systems and Clinical teams during the development process to gather feedback regarding image quality and workflow. Work with software developers and software engineers to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services. Develop and implement quantitative measurements to assess the impact of the algorithms on Image Quality. Gather and analyze field data to assess the performance of algorithms after deployment. Follow existing quality procedures, create formal design and verification documentation, execute formal verification procedures. Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics. Provide engineering support for investigation of customer complaints. Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Master’s Degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related & 2 years of related experience. This position also requires: 2 years of experience developing image processing & analysis algorithms in Matlab, Python or IDL; 1 year of experience with deep learning platforms such as Pytorch, Keras or Tensorflow; 1 year of experience building deep learning models such as CNN, RNN and LSTM; 2 years of experience developing commercial-level product features; 1 year of experience developing GUIs using Matlab. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at GE Medical Systems, L.L.C.’s Waukesha, WI location.
