General Electric Senior Electrical Engineer, MR Power Senior Design Engineer in Waukesha, Wisconsin
Job Description Summary
This role will be responsible for power electronics design and engineering; designing, developing, modifying and evaluating power semiconductor parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems and integrating that circuity into a magnetic resonance system.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
•Design and develop power hardware MR gradient driver systems.
•Work cross-functionally with systems, hardware, and firmware engineering teams to understand system interactions and dependencies, account for these integration points within development plan
•Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.
•Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process
•Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data
•Construct models and simulations to prove out design concepts; Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation
•Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system; review and approve layout (Cadence).
•Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
•Active mentoring and guidance of junior design engineers in area of expertise
1.Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years relative work experience in power electronics and analog system design.
1.Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
2.Circuit design, schematic capture, and simulation tool experience. Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration.
3.Demonstrated ability to design and debug power, analog and digital bench level test setups. Must be familiar with common power semiconductor components.
4.Power Circuit design and simulation tool experience (eg - PLECS, LTSpice, Matlab)
5.Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
6.Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
7.Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task; excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
8.Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
9.Experienced in developing project plans and estimates
10.Effective oral and written communication skills
11.Design for Reliability, EMC, and Manufacturability experience
