Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for driving New Product Introduction program execution and technical content for all service product features as part of new products and install base releases. The LSI develops the execution plan for all service deliverables including technical publications, training, global parts availability, and service process validation. The LSI owns and drives the technical risk retirement plan and ensures that the necessary resources are applied and delivering to plan.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
1.Responsible for driving service integration activities (Installation, Calibration, Serviceability, PM) for MR products.
2.Works closely with cross-functional teams, service operations, product definition, LSDs, Principle Engineers & Architects to define a strategy to develop effective service requirements by having a clear understanding of customer needs and business priorities, then driving the translation of those into technical specifications & product design.
3.Driving technical solutions and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology.
4.Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements and drive design and implementation to address those opportunities.
5.Ensuring that the product development process abides to the business Engineering Quality Procedures, Phased Review Discipline and regulatory needs of the applicable markets
6.Working with the system, subsystem/platform and service leadership teams to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with the necessary features
7.Planning resources and materials for timely NPI program execution
8.Works closely with Lead Systems Designer to drive service related risk retirement activities
9.Communication with all functions in the organization and will be involved in the full life cycle of the product from definition to verification/validation and installed base support.
10.Defining procedures for field modifications, calibrations, and part replacements
11.Owning system requirements related to install, calibration, serviceability and PM’s
12.Setting FRU strategies and interfacing with external organizations such as GPRS and Service Operations
13.Interface with field personal such as OLEs and RSEs to gather feedback on serviceability and channel those to NPIs as requirements working with Service Architect
1.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science, or Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years relevant experience within technical discipline
2.4 years experience in project leadership or driving new product introduction.
3.Experience working in cross-functional relationships
4.Demonstrated experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle
5.Demonstrated technical depth and problem-solving techniques.
6.Demonstrated organizational, functional, and leadership expertise to lead teams on a project, sub-system or platform initiative
7.Exposure to and familiarity with serviceability.
1.Extended experience in a Service, Hardware and/or Systems, previous service engineering positions
2.Exposure to Imaging hardware/software/coils/applications/system engineering.
3.Experience with MR or CT scanner operation, design and troubleshooting issues
4.Ability to work independently, Strong analytical, trouble-shooting skills
5.Customer orientation: self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and learn quickly
6.Customer focused: strong interpersonal skills, ability to listen to customer, build relationships, and work under pressure
7.Hands-on approach with regards to installations, upgrades and repairs General project leadership skills
8.Design For Reliability (DFR) or Design For Service (DFS) experience
9.Demonstrated experience with quality and regulatory compliance process, design history file and collaterals are in place and current
10.Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of a product/program
11.Attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments
12.Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
13.Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
14.Global / multi-site project experience
