Job Description Summary

The Global P&E and Supply Chain Finance Manager is responsible for overall management of the GEHC P&E spend profile, including implementing standard processes and rigor across GEHC to provide analytics and visibility into capital expenditures. This role will be actively engaged with the leadership of each section of the business to ensure GEHC investments are aligned within their budget.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Develop, improve and drive rigor into P&E financial processes: leverage consistent reporting tools, budgeting and estimating processes, and facilitate capital allocation discussions

  2. Functional owner of GEARS, the operational/financial tool and workflow for procurement, estimation, and approval of P&E

  3. Partner with supply chain business leaders and staff to drive operating performance & cost visibility in relation to approved budgets

  4. Ownership for developing capital expenditure, operating plans, forecasts, and detailed analytics to assist in management decision making

  5. Work closely with HQ finance on Capex analysis to ensure accurate external reporting

  6. Lead discussions in key cash operating mechanisms around the capital expenditure profile to assist leadership in the visibility of our investments

  7. Partner with Facilities operations team regarding the facility rooftop strategy/dispositions and gain/loss calculations to generate Cash and Opex savings for the business


  1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC PPE Accounting Policies, GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of five years of financial work experience, including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews

  1. Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  2. Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  3. Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

  4. Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)

  5. Fluency in English

  6. Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/GE Values

  7. Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  8. Experience successfully leading cross-functional projects and process improvement within the operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas.

  9. Experience in a matrixed environment

  10. Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

  11. Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

  12. Good understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP

  13. Graduate of GE's Financial Management Program (FMP); or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS); Experienced Financial Leadership Program (EFLP) or graduate of other financial leadership programs"
