Job Description Summary

The GE Healthcare Edison Engineering Internship Program offers professional development through a challenging internship in a dynamic, fast-paced, medical technology business. Interns work on engineering assignments guided by technical mentors.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Assignments may include:

  • Designing, testing and/or debugging functions and features of GE Healthcare products

  • Designing, testing and/or debugging functions and features of development/test toolsData analytics

  • Documentation

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent degree

  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale)

  • High self-confidence

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms

  • Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Computer Engineering or Computer Science areas

  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams

  • Proven leadership skills and experience

  • Must be willing to relocate

  • Able to work for a minimum of 10 weeks

Desired Characteristics :

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • A prior internship or co-op with software and/or firmware design experience

  • Proficiency in software languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Shell scripting, C, C++, Matlab, and/or Python

  • Experience with object-oriented design methodology, and/or algorithm development

  • Experience with agile principles and methodologies

  • Experience with Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence technologies

  • Passion for a career in healthcare technology
