Job Description Summary
The Global MR Patient Handling Platform Team at GE Healthcare designs and delivers the technology hardware implementation of the patient handling subsystem into all magnetic resonant imaging products. The team provides engineering design and development for all mechanical, electrical and digital aspects of the MR patient handling subsystem, including thermal, acoustic, vibration, electronics packaging, table motion, table design, fluid management, and structural design. The team works closely with other hardware platform teams, systems engineering, software, and firmware to integrate and deliver solutions to help improve and enhance our products.
Roles and Responsibilities
Designing the following electrical components and interconnects: mixed signal, analog, digital, power supply, motion control and tuning solutions.
Engaging in hardware lifecycle management, including solutions to obsolescence, verification of design solutions, improvement of manufacturing process, and cost out opportunities.
Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.
Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage strategic sourcing objectives and common technology initiatives in the MR product line.
Ensuring reliability, performance and delivery through supplier relationships.
Writing detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.
Working cross-functionally with engineering teams to understand system interactions and dependencies, accounting for these integration points within development plan.
Providing technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process.
Testing and verifying hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data.
Capturing electrical design schematics using an ECAD system.
Reviewing and approving layout done on ECAD systems.
Selecting hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
Working with technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize hardware designs.
BS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years experience on electronics R&D in healthcare, automation, instrumentation, or telecommunication industry.
Demonstrated technical depth in electrical design and mixed signal design.
Good capability on electrical design tools and simulation tools: Cadence, Matlab, PSPICE, etc.
Working experience with PWA/PWB and subsystem design techniques for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC circuit design and simulation tool experience.
Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills.
Strong sense of ownership.
Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability and delivery targets.
MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Prior work at GEHC.
Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop.
Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities.
Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and global project experience.
Experienced in developing project plans and estimates.
Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience.
DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality).
