Business Summary
The Imaging Group of GE Healthcare (GEHC) consists of 4 strategic business units (SBUs) – Image-Guided Therapies, Magnetic Resonance, Molecular Imaging and CT, and Women’s Health & X-Ray – as well as an Imaging Platforms and Solutions organization. As Imaging continues to build on its leadership position within its core business, business development (including M&A, partnerships, minority investments, licensing, external funding, and divestitures) will be an important strategic lever to drive business growth and create better, more integrated solutions for customers.
Role Summary
The Director, Business Development & Strategy will lead the execution of business development deals within GE Healthcare’s Imaging business. Reporting to the Business Development and Strategy Executive Leader, the role will partner with GE Healthcare’s Imaging teams to a) outline their inorganic growth strategy, b) build a business development pipeline based on those strategic, and c) execute business development transactions.

Essential Responsibilities
Partners with the SBU leadership teams to develop long-term (3-5 year) inorganic roadmaps for their businesses Leads the business development process from strategy creation, target identification and screening, deal structuring, valuation, due diligence, negotiation and closing Collaborates with GE colleagues in the SBUs to support effective business development decision making Works with GEHC, Imaging, and BD leadership to manage communication, align key internal stakeholders, and secure executive and board approvals throughout the deal process Facilitates the smooth transition of responsibilities and knowledge to business and functional leaders responsible for ongoing operations post-close
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business- or healthcare-related field
Minimum 10 years of relevant healthcare work experience, including management consulting, investment banking, venture capital and private equity, business development and strategy for a large corporation, or product/general management
Demonstrated experience analyzing and negotiating business transactions, including acquisition strategy creation, target due diligence, and deal financial modeling
Proven track record supporting and managing transactions
Ability to understand the various business unit goals and proactively identify inorganic opportunities to meet them
Experience and demonstrated aptitude both managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s in Business Administration
3-5+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or business development at a large healthcare company
Experience within a multi-national medical technology business, especially medical devices
Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix organizational environment and to interact with executives at the most senior levels
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills
