Job Description Summary

Electronics Assembly Engineer working on process design of next generation CT scanner. Work with a global cross-functional team to develop high precision, robust and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Own processes from development into production. Sustain excellence on quality, compliance, and safety standards. Practical implementation of Design for Manufacturability and Lean Six Sigma tools on a true NPI. Interface with global counterparts to achieve program goals; integrate global activities as needed.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support early focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, Lean manufacturing, process layout, tooling design, equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution

  • Highlight Supply Chain Risks related to Safety, Cost, Lead Time, Business Continuity and Regulatory Compliance to Project Management and Leadership Team. Follow through on Risk Mitigation Activities and provide status updates in Program Reviews.

  • Anticipates new product development data needs and coordinate efforts to define, develop, launch and refine required tools.

  • Coordinates cross-functional efforts to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.

  • Lead development of manufacturing monitoring tools and improve productivity using Lean Six Sigma or related tools.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance

  • Work with Process Owner of Wire and Wedge bonders

  • Guide documentation of process requirements

  • Help guide development recipes, standard work and maintenance procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in electronics design or manufacturing

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Electrical CAD experience

  • Automation projects utilizing robotics, pick n place; wire bonding technologies

  • Projects involving the usage of exotic materials – UV adhesives, epoxies….etc.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Six Sigma training/certification a plus

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Working in a federally regulated industry (helpful)

  • 5 – 20% travel to include Europe
