General Electric Global Capital Advisory Intern, (Energy Financial Services) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description Summary

The internship is a summer-long, full-time program in GE’s Washington, DC office. We are seeking candidates who will provide research and analysis that supports business strategic and investment decisions.

Job Description

  • Researching international finance policies relevant to U.S. government agencies including the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank) and global development finance institutions (DFIs)

  • Assisting on various competitive intelligence initiatives and database maintenance related to tracking third party financing from export credit agencies, development finance institutions, and other capital market sources

  • Creating and editing presentation and briefing materials for EFS-GCA teams

  • Assist with preparation of internal and external communications regarding investment activities

  • Assist with office administrative functions as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Rising junior or senior undergraduate student in related studies (Finance, Economics, Business is preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Summer, full-time (40 hours/week)

  • Ability to work in Washington, DC. GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening

  • Strong academic and professional credentials

  • Strong research, communication and presentation skills required: Candidate will be expected to be able to prepare presentations communicating complex topics in a variety of forums. Important to be able to tailor communications to effectively fit and influence targeted audience.

  • Self-starter and strong work ethic: Candidate is expected to be solutions focused and flexible, and able to support team in a dynamic environment.

  • Preferred candidates also will possess international experience, foreign language skills, or experience in international project finance.
