General Electric Technical Learning Leader – Chief Engineering Office in Warsaw, Poland
Role Summary:The Technical Learning Leader for Gas Power & Power Services Engineering will set and implement the strategic plan that drives improved learning capabilities of the global Engineering team. This will require partnership with Engineering leadership to identify critical technical training priorities and demand and lead the creation, launching, and management of these training programs, to measurably improve the global Engineering team’s capabilities and effectiveness.
Lead strategy, design, & execution of Gas Power and Power Services Engineering learning solutions globally, including identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing training needs.
As a change leader, drive practical implementation of learning and development leveraging best practices and industry benchmarks.
Oversee the identification, creation, delivery and lifecycle management of new training content.
Leverage synergies within GE to promote technical training and development efficiently and effectively.
Develop experts to support the course curriculum and form a qualified instructor network.
Implement contemporary learning concepts / strategies to drive engagement and foster information transfer.
Ensure the content and delivery of training materials are appropriately tailored to the specific audience (regional and local country considerations).
Drive effective utilization of distance learning techniques to reach broad employee base.
Measure training effectiveness in terms of impact on business goals, behavior change, and return on investment; monitor and adjust accordingly.
Partner with GE Learning community to build and implement learning in support of key GE Engineering/Technology initiatives (new capabilities, digital industrial strategy, etc.)
Partner with O&TD function to ensure full integration with talent management processes.
Conduct capability model assessments in line with the needs of the Engineer-of-the-Future, and support the findings with scalable learning strategies for employees.
Identify, source, and manage best-in-class vendors to meet training needs. May require partnerships with academia and university providers.
Formulate delivery strategies for curricula, including train-the-trainer, e-Learning, and internal and/or external instructor development. Track progress and compliance.
Create a marketing strategy and communication plan to assist in the understanding of Gas Power and Power Services Engineering course offerings, best practices, and projects.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering or Training & Development or equivalent knowledge or work experience
Significant technical experience and/or training and development in an engineering or technical environment
+ + Master’s degree in Engineering or Training & Development or equivalent knowledge or work experience
Thorough understanding of adult learning methodologies and tools, including needs assessment, instructional design, instructional development, e-learning, and learning
Ability to influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization
Ability to take initiative, be creative, set strategic priorities and drive independently for results
Able to drive a strategy of innovation and continuously raising the bar for both training production and execution
Proven project management skills
Effective presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
