General Electric Lead Engineer - Thermal Systems Design in Warsaw, Poland

Job Description Summary

As a Lead Engineer in Heat Transfer and Component Cooling team you will be responsible for developing thermal design of rotor and stator engine components. In this role you will have an opportunity to lead the development efforts in new technology projects for jet engines. You may also work on thermal design of other engine components (i.e.: heat exchangers and ant-ice systems) and testing hardware. In this role you will utilize your technical experience and expertise to identify problems, find solutions and demonstrate thermal design and analytical skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the thermal design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

  • Execute the projects, while managing program schedule and financial work scope to meet business needs

  • Share technical knowledge within the group and across the organization

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

  • Monitor and communicate project status internally and externally for related activities

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate proficiency with core technical tools, methods and concepts

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/BSc in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • Demonstrated teamwork and self-reliance in assigned tasks

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in the Engineering/Technology

  • Understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics

  • Familiarity with thermal design tools and processes.

  • Demonstrated ownership and an ability to analyze and resolve problems
