Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform heat transfer/ flow analysis for assigned component
Technical requirements interpretation
Support build of prototype units
Testing support and design/ analytical methods validation
Ensure on schedule submission of planned deliverables to external and internal customers
Budget and schedule control needed to complete assigned tasks
Assure proper documentation (analytical models and reports) of technical data generated to substantiate assigned components/ systems consistent with GE Aviation engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status internally and externally for related activities
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical/ program reviews in person or remotely
May lead small team within individual discipline
Required Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
Understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics, good proven analytical skills
Experience with 1D tools and CFD analysis using Ansys CFX and Fluent
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide and influence others
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and programming skills (VBA, Python)
Demonstrated experience in aviation sector would be an advantage
Target oriented, problem-solving attitude, “can do” approach
Demonstrated high written and verbal communication skills
Excellent English skills (spoken & written)
Ability to travel abroad and work with global team members
