Job Description Summary
As a Lead Counsel Northern Eastern Europe you will provide legal support for GE Healthcare business teams in Northern Eastern Europe. This will include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with key customers, advising on a wide range of legal and compliance matters and acting as business partner to support the senior business leaders in the region. The Lead Counsel will be based in a GEHC location in Poland and will report to the Senior Counsel Eastern Europe. The contract duration for the position will be 1 ½ years from engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Providing legal support for NEE businesses in the region.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial business agreements and transactions with key customers.
Providing legal advice in public tenders, incl. challenges to tender award.
Counseling in indirect distribution matters working closely with the Indirect Channel/Dealer Compliance Organization as well as the sales teams in the region.
Advising the business on regulatory, privacy, antitrust and advertising/promotional matters.
Providing regulatory and compliance advice related specifically to the healthcare sector - in conjunction with the Regulatory and Compliance specialists in GE Healthcare, e.g. regarding interactions with Healthcare Professionals; transparency requirements; compliance trainings where appropriate, serve as escalation point and help with investigations and with making decisions with broader risk implications, Compliance Review Boards in collaboration with Compliance and business owner.
Managing/ supporting the management of disputes and litigation.
Managing outside counsel, when brought in to assist.
Supporting the management of legal entities in the region.
Applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.
Business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing business transactions (i.e. purchase, sale and distribution agreements).
Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.
Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
Fluency in Polish and English language.
Experience in Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations.
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
Active bar membership is a plus.
