General Electric Junior Design Engineer - Heat Transfer and Component Cooling in Warsaw, Poland

Job Description Summary

As a Junior Design Engineer in Heat Transfer and Component Cooling team you will be responsible

for supporting thermal design of engine components in area of high-pressure turbine and combustor.

In this role you will have an opportunity to learn and work as a member of development team in new technology projects for jet engines. You may also support thermal design of other engine components (i.e.: heat exchangers and ant-ice systems) and testing hardware. In this role you will develop your knowledge and competences to identify problems, find solutions, and demonstrate thermal design

and analytical skills.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform 2D/3D thermal analysis of high-pressure turbine and combustor components to support new engine designs and legacy products

  • Participate in development of component cooling design for assigned project

  • Collaborate with design team members and experts to meet project goals and requirements

  • Exchanges technical information, promote open dialogue and asks questions to solve problems

  • Prepare and present technical data on internal and external reviews

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree. Preferred: Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science

• Basic understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics

• Good level of English

  • Familiarity with thermal analysis (Altair Hypermesh, Ansys Workbench) and CFD (Fluent) will be an additional advantage
