General Electric Staff Software Engineer in Finland

Job Description Summary

Healthcare is developing fast in the fields of bedside monitoring, wireless, and mobile technologies. We develop technologies to make healthcare affordable and accessible all over the world.

We are looking for four developers to work on the design, implementation, and testing of a medical application. We have two open positions for clinical application & UI and two open positions for middleware.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop software from sensor data acquisition towards data processing, business logic, UI, or communication (depending the role)

  • Develop robust and high-quality software

  • Drive excellence and continuous improvement in software development methods and tools

  • Work as an active member of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary agile team

  • Take full responsibility of the software development, including reviews, testing, and documentation

  • Interact seamlessly in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, and global environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

  • Substantial experience in software platforms, applications, and/or user-interface design

  • Deep experience in object-oriented design in C++, other modern SW methodologies, and agile software development

  • Self-starter — eager and quick to learn and experiment

  • Demonstrated engineering curiosity and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

  • Legally authorized to work in Finland

Desired qualifications

  • We value experience in device technologies as well as experience in these technologies: Linux, RTOS, Qt, embedded systems, wireless technologies, configuration management, continuous integration, test automation, and physiological measurements.

  • Experience in a complex system program with multiple processors in data chain
