General Electric Mechanics Design Engineer in Finland

Job Description Summary

As a Mechanics Design Engineer you will work on new product designs and existing products maintenance in the field of patient monitoring of vital signs. Actual job focus will be agreed according to your knowledge/interest and program needs.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create 3D-models, 2D-drawings and manufacturing specifications for wearable medical sensor products.

  • Select components and materials for products and contribute to selection of manufacturing technologies.

  • Create test plans, conducts hands-on testing and report results.

  • Co-ordinate and run fast prototyping for quick design iteration.

  • Collaborate with external suppliers, and internal functions from sourcing, manufacturing etc.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Some experience in thermoplastic materials and designs.

  • Experience of using CAD tools for 3D-modeling and creating 2D-manufacturing drawings.

  • Experience in hands-on mechanical prototyping.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

  • EU work permit.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience of designing products with high expectations for reliability.

  • Experience with injection molding process

  • Conceptual understanding on failure mode and effect analyses (FMEA) for mechanical safety.

  • Knowledge on mechanics environmental test methods and durability testing.

  • Hand on skills at mechanics laboratory work and measurement related measurement tools.
