General Electric Sr Finance Manager 1 - Commercial Finance Management in Egypt

Job Description Summary

As a Commercial Finance Manager you are in charge of providing financial leadership for both the Equipment and Service for GE Healthcare's Middle East business. one of your key strengths will be driving business initiatives, growth, business strategy and profitability. You will also be responsible to integrate & develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Translate concepts, develop strategy, implement change, create programs responsive to external environment, and participate in cross-functional business and cultural development

  • Lead the development, implementation and measurement of operation plans and participate in their successful execution (Lead BPR and Op Plan)

  • Participate in business deal reviews and deal approval meetings and keep senior management advised of material developments

  • Communicate business performance and identify growth accelerators

  • Provide business performance analytics to identify financial trends, highlight risk and opportunities and ensure operational coordination

  • Drive financial performance improvement initiatives throughout business (cost reduction,

  • Commercial & Operational excellence, productivity, etc.) … Recommend and influence needed actions to maximize cash, profitability and dispute management

  • Lead the pursuit of excellence in Controllership (e.g., ownership of balance sheets, statuary financials, adherence to GE policies, transfer of best practices, internal controls, etc.)

  • Lead the team to be responsible for quarterly closing/estimates and develop reliable estimates of sales to CM and drive rigor & linearity.

  • Lead productivity and process improvement in terms of Penalty, VCP, NL items, NI Reserves and any other items which will lead to CM improvement.

  • Ensure Commercial Focus, collaborate with the business managers to understand the customer needs and translate these to Financing Models and Offerings.

  • Drive finance controls & processes to ensure equipment & service billing quality

  • Support finance simplification or process improvement projects including implementation and optimization of various shared service functions including cash and accounting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Minimum of 10 years of financial work experience that entails budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business partnership.

  • Confidence / Assertiveness: possess influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives.

  • Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.

Desired Characteristics

  • Masters’ degree in Business Administration

  • Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: SAP, OBIEE, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)

  • Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Strong understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP

  • Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma

  • Graduate of GE's Financial Management Program (FMP); or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS); or graduate of other financial leadership programs.
