General Electric General Manager - Ultrasound, Emerging Markets (EM) in United Arab Emirates

Job Description Summary

The Ultrasound General Manager, EM is responsible for development and implementation of the segment strategy for market share gain & profitable franchise growth, driving Orders, SM and value creation product strategy across the zone. This role will be a key member of the zone’s leadership team, partnering with the Commercial leaders, Product GMs, Zone GMs & LCT GMs to drive customer satisfaction and business profitable growth.

Accountable for all segments’ aggregate Orders, Sales, SM, OM forecast & performance both direct and indirect, price/margin portfolio governance & performance, inventory management as well as market visibility & win rate and market share performance across the zone. Through specialization, enhancing customer experience, and employee development; this role ensures one strategy, supporting customers and employees.

  • Responsible for strategy development for the zone, BPR development and implementation across all segments and execution of business priorities.

  • Build business growth opportunities that introduce new products / business model offerings, new channels and utilize new platforms that promote contemporary enhanced customer engagement (Social media, e-commerce etc)

  • Proactively identify customer needs and accelerate value proposition & growth strategies development in coordination with global product managers with a focus on economical, clinical and workflow outcomes tailored to customers segments, Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and Digital Opinion Leaders (DOL).

  • Cross collaboration for Care Area value proposition & business model development.

  • Review segments, zones & LCTs plans / investments deploying resources coverage to meet financial & operational objectives & ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Understand and analyze market dynamics and competition to develop business opportunities and continuously work towards improving market-share across products segments, utilize key industry information and market knowledge to gain competitive advantage in marketplace.

  • Ensure adequate balance & capital allocation across Zones for optimal business return.

  • Grow IB share & retention by monetizing lifecycle focused Solutions & Programs.

  • Collaborate with relevant teams and design effective Value & Pricing propositions for products, final pricing decisions as per DoA (Delegation of Authority) pricing policies.

  • Lead & cultivate positive leadership and culture through demonstrating & championing GE Leadership behaviors, promoting horizontal teamwork & driving change.

  • Effectively manage commercial channels (direct & Indirect) by designing lean organizational structures supported by strong operating mechanisms

  • Attract, retain and develop world-class commercial talent and motivate the team of highly experienced product, sales & applications professionals. Inspire, develop & grow an efficient & highly performing teams.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy and Anti-Competition Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare HIPPA Guidelines, NEMA Regulations, etc.) and operates within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Environmental Health Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare EHS Policies, GE Healthcare Fleet Rules, etc.) and operate within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken

  • Ownership of order and configuration quality at the point of entry to ensure accuracy, configuration integrity and that all requirements are tied to documented customer inputs

  • Drive continuous simplification improvement on all related processes, work instructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of the Quality Management System


  • BA/BS Degree.

  • Extensive sales/marketing/product leadership experience

  • Successful senior level sales management, product, and/or general management experience

  • Strong technical competency and understanding of the Product Portfolio

  • Ability to develop and execute multiple priorities and approaches to meet objectives

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and team-building skills. Must be highly skilled at written and verbal communication both inside the company and with external customers

  • Ability to influence as a horizontal team player and drive change cross-functionally in a highly matrixed environment

  • Healthcare/MedTech Industry experience

  • Strong business acumen, financial and organizational knowledge

  • Track record of growth and learning agility

  • Technical competency in using financial reporting tools

  • Technical knowledge of the GEHC industry

  • Skilled in public speaking as domain expert, in scientific congresses

  • Ability to engage with and deliver GE value proposition to senior level contacts within account and/or prospect organizations

  • Ability to negotiate complex and strategic contracts

  • Adaptable and flexible to work environment including, but not limited to, handling multiple tasks concurrently, and easily adapting to new assignments, system, tools

  • Produce clear, concise, accurate written communication, clearly conveying thoughts and ideas to peers, management, and customers

  • Establish and maintain positive work relationships with peers, management, and customers displaying willingness to understand diverse points of view

  • Knowledge and experience of large complex sales and marketing processes

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the zone on a regular basis

  • Fluent in English
